Human-AI Indian Music Label Raagverse Launches With ‘Janaa Hai Toh Jao’ (EXCLUSIVE)

Variety ·

Raagverse, a new Indian music label combining human songwriting with AI production tools, will release its debut album, “Janaa Hai Toh Jao”, on 20 October. The project is led by Amita Madhvani of Equinox Virtual and is designed to keep people in charge of the lyrics, creative direction and mood, with AI helping shape songs into recordings.

The album contains three tracks: “Janaa Hai Toh Jao”, “Koi Keh De Usse” and “Tere Liye”, all written by Mamta Javkar and set for major streaming platforms. Madhvani said the label builds on lessons from an earlier AI-assisted musical project, where technology helped execute an idea rooted in human creativity. Equinox Virtual has registered Raagverse as intellectual property and plans to use it for more original music.

Raagverse is an Indian music label built around songs written and directed by people, with artificial intelligence tools helping turn those ideas into recorded music. Its project is led by Amita Madhvani of Equinox Virtual, and the lyrics for the debut album’s three tracks were written by Mamta Javkar.

The label follows an earlier AI-assisted musical project by Madhvani and Equinox Virtual. The approach gives human creators control of the words, mood and creative direction while using AI in production, a model that is part of wider debate about how technology may be used in music.
