Hunter x Hunter Teases the Manga’s Officially Returning Sooner Than Expected
Hunter x Hunter fans have reason for optimism as the manga approaches the end of its latest batch of chapters. Yoshihiro Togashi's long-running series has historically gone on lengthy hiatuses between ten-chapter runs, roughly once every two years, owing to the author's poor health, but signs now point to a much quicker return this time, which would be welcome news for a fanbase used to years-long waits.
With chapter 419 published and only one more instalment due before the current run concludes, the upcoming issue 41 of Weekly Shonen Jump will carry an advertising page for the series, typically used for announcements about its future. Togashi has reportedly already delivered six of the next ten chapters to the magazine, with four more in progress, fuelling speculation that a firm publication schedule, possibly a monthly format, could be confirmed. The story itself has also picked up pace, with the Succession Contest Arc advancing significantly and a rare mention of long-absent characters Gon and Killua.
- Hunter x Hunter may return faster than usual after its current hiatus.
- Six of the next ten chapters are already finished, Togashi says.
- Shonen Jump may announce a new, possibly monthly, schedule soon.
