Woman tells court Brand’s alleged rape left her feeling degraded and guilty

Daily Mail ·

A woman who accuses Russell Brand of rape told Southwark Crown Court that he made her feel “degraded” and “like a piece of meat”. She says he forced her into anal sex without warning in 2009, despite her having agreed only to consensual vaginal sex, and that the experience left her with lasting shame and guilt.

The woman said she had admired Brand when they met at a gig, then agreed to visit his Hampstead home after splitting from her partner. In a police interview played to the court, she described later confronting him by text; she says he replied, “I’m sorry.” Brand’s barrister argued the encounter was consensual and suggested her judgement was clouded by her admiration for him. Brand denies the charges; six women have accused him of three counts of rape, three of sexual assault and one of indecent assault.
