Myles Smith has postponed his 4 August Vancouver performance because of a serious family health emergency requiring him to attend important appointments at home. The folk-pop singer said family had to come first and sought to explain the cancellation directly to fans while protecting his family’s privacy.

Smith, whose debut album My Mess, My Heart, My Life was released in June, acknowledged that the late cancellation frustrated people who had bought tickets, made plans or travelled. He thanked supporters for their understanding, apologised again and said he intended to return to Vancouver when circumstances allowed.
