AnnaSophia Robb, star of the upcoming biographical drama I Play Rocky, is set to co-star opposite Will Smith in the action thriller Supermax, according to sources cited by Deadline. The project marks a significant addition to Smith's slate, with Robb joining as his character's partner in a story centred on a murder investigation inside a maximum-security prison.

The film, directed by David Gordon Green, is a joint production between Amazon MGM Studios and Miramax, with Amazon having secured worldwide distribution rights allowing it to reach Prime Video audiences in more than 240 countries and territories. Robb will play a young detective alongside Smith's FBI agent as the pair investigate the murder; the script comes from David Weil and David J. Rosen, with Andrew Rona, Alex Heineman, Smith and Adam Fishbach producing. Robb, recently praised for her role in Netflix's Rebel Ridge, is also set to appear in the second season of Prime Video's Overcompensating.
