Final Fantasy 7 Revelation director Naoki Hamaguchi has said the game’s main story is intended to conclusively end Square Enix’s remake trilogy when it launches in spring 2027. He acknowledged strong expectations from fans and media for further content, but stressed that the development team is currently focused on completing the game rather than planning beyond it.

Hamaguchi said downloadable content has not been confirmed, though Square Enix could consider it if there is clear demand and the team finds a compelling idea. Any such DLC would likely be a character-focused spin-off, comparable to Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s Yuffie-centred Episode Intermission, rather than an extension of Revelation’s central ending. He added that the company will assess player reactions and reviews after release before deciding whether to revisit the franchise.
