Jade Windley, 28, initially blamed blurred vision on a hangover after struggling to see dancers during a Beyoncé concert on television. An eye test and scan instead revealed a non-cancerous tumour, highlighting the importance of seeking professional advice about unexplained changes in vision.

Despite injections, steroids and radiotherapy, Jade developed a second tumour and ultimately had her right eye removed in August 2026 after losing vision and experiencing severe pain. She now uses an ocular conformer while awaiting a prosthetic eye, and is adapting to reduced depth perception and Charles Bonnet syndrome; she is raising funds for prosthetic eyes and urging others to have worrying symptoms checked.
