Royal journalist Charlotte Griffiths says Prince Harry was “boisterous” when they briefly socialised in London’s wealthy circles in the late 2000s and early 2010s. She suspects meeting Meghan Markle may have accelerated his shift towards a calmer, more mature lifestyle, while recognising that growing older could also explain the change.

Griffiths recalled Harry joking around at parties, including rearranging silver animal figurines at a country house, and said friends sometimes asked him to quieten down. She described the behaviour as harmless and typical of their social group. Griffiths also said she stopped replying to Harry’s Facebook messages because she found it difficult to combine journalism with friendships in royal circles.
