Ian Gillan recovering from “successful procedure” following medical emergency
Ian Gillan says he is recovering after a successful medical procedure, following an emergency that led Deep Purple to postpone the rest of their UK and European tour dates. The 81-year-old singer has not disclosed the nature of the health concern and says he needs to rest before returning to work.
The postponements followed two cancelled German shows when Gillan was taken to hospital. Fifteen dates across Germany, the Netherlands, France and the UK are affected; scheduled shows in Brazil, Chile, Argentina and Mexico remain set to go ahead. Gillan thanked fans for their patience and apologised for the disruption.
