Ruby Evans has described how competing at the Paris 2024 Olympics unexpectedly brought rapid public attention, while reflecting on her growing status as one of British gymnastics’ rising stars. The 19-year-old says she manages negative social-media comments by refusing to engage with them, and her resilience was evident when she recovered from disappointment in the Commonwealth all-around event to win a historic floor gold for Wales.

Evans competed at her first Olympics aged 17, where Great Britain finished fourth in the women’s team final by 0.2 points, and she now has 127,000 Instagram followers and almost two million TikTok likes. She won floor silver at the 2025 World Championships and is preparing for the European Championships in Zagreb, while developing a second vault that could strengthen her prospects for individual success at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
