An Idaho mother accused of murdering her 18-month-old twin toddlers is receiving expensive trauma therapy and frequent contact with family whilst awaiting trial in prison. Andrea Shaw has pleaded not guilty to the deaths of Dallas and Tyson on 1 May 2025, claiming they died from vaccines rather than being smothered as prosecutors allege. The case has drawn attention as Shaw had publicly advocated against childhood vaccinations before her arrest, appearing on an anti-vaccine podcast.

Shaw remains in Payette County Prison and has access to daily video calls with her 23-year-old husband and surviving three-month-old daughter, as well as specialised EMDR trauma counselling sessions costing $100–350 each. Prosecutors claim Shaw repeatedly changed her story during the investigation, whilst her husband remained consistent. Investigators ruled out environmental causes such as heat or carbon monoxide poisoning, and prosecutors argue her inconsistent accounts and admission that she was present when the children died support the murder charge.
