Autonomous.ai has launched Intern 2, a $299 pyramid-shaped computer designed to run AI agents such as Hermes and OpenClaw in an isolated environment. It aims to offer a safer, more contained alternative to running background agents on a personal laptop, especially for repetitive or scheduled tasks.

The device uses cloud-based inference rather than running models locally, with a daily allowance of 10 million tokens through Autonomous.ai’s gateway, and can optionally connect to a separate local model. It includes a microphone, speaker, USB-C, Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5, although the precise single-board computer inside is unclear; its software is open source, and the company says the system could automate email, scheduling, GitHub work and research.
