Mohammed Tager, 38, has been given a 39-week prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, after pleading guilty to operating a regulated waste facility in Sheffield without an environmental permit. The case highlights enforcement against illegal waste operations that can harm the environment and affect local residents.

The Environment Agency found mixed waste, electrical items, soil, stones and evidence of burning at the Former Stanley Works site on Rutland Road. Tager was also ordered to complete 180 hours of unpaid work, pay a £187 victim surcharge and contribute £2,000 towards prosecution costs; the site has since been cleared.
