Swiss modern metal outfit ILLUMISHADE, fronted by ELUVEITIE vocalist Fabienne Erni and guitarist Jonas Wolf, has released their latest single 'Heatwave', which signals a stylistic shift toward darker, more atmospheric territory. The track combines haunting electronic verses with heavily distorted guitar work and features guest vocals from Adrienne Cowan of Seven Spires. The collaboration explores themes of impending doom, guilt, and destruction through contrasting vocal approaches—Cowan's guttural performance against Erni's crystalline delivery—creating what the musicians describe as an intense and visceral listening experience.

The band, formed in Zurich in 2019, has progressed from their 2020 debut 'Eclyptic: Wake Of Shadows' through their 2024 sophomore album 'Another Side Of You', which spurred touring across Europe and North America. With 'Heatwave' and its May predecessor 'Paralyzed', ILLUMISHADE—now operating as an independent entity—demonstrates an evolution toward harder-hitting modern metal whilst retaining their distinctive musical identity.
