I’m serious about getting England call – Hendy
Northampton wing and full-back George Hendy says he is serious about earning an England call-up ahead of next month’s Nations Championship matches. The 24-year-old has been a key contributor for Northampton, but has yet to join several team-mates who have established themselves in the national side.
England coach Steve Borthwick is due to name a training squad on Sunday, with England set to face Australia, Japan and New Zealand in London. Hendy has scored 44 tries in 80 games for Northampton and says he is working on areas identified in conversations with England staff, while continuing to build on his ability to beat defenders and finish tries. He says seeing team-mates represent England motivates him, and wants the chance to test himself in camp.
