In 2008, Christian Bale was Batman, but an agent still didn’t know he wasn’t Christian Slater
Christian Bale recalled that, even as his career was taking off after *Batman Begins*, people in Hollywood sometimes failed to recognise him. In a 2008 interview, he described an agent who asked what he did, offered to help him find work and did not realise he was speaking to the actor playing Batman.
Bale also recounted a casting director mistaking him for Christian Slater and enthusiastically offering him a role. When she realised her error, she apologised, took back the script and left. Bale said their similar ages, builds and hairstyles may have contributed to the confusion; the anecdotes came as he was promoting *The Dark Knight*.
