Harmony Tividad, best known as one half of Girlpool, has discussed her new solo album 'Lifetime' with Clash Magazine, describing a record shaped by reflection on past versions of herself and different life phases. The interview explores how her songwriting process, rooted in spirituality and intuition, has evolved since Girlpool announced a hiatus in 2022, and why revisiting old personas and experiences has proven creatively fruitful for her first major solo project.

Tividad began writing the songs that became 'Lifetime' before Girlpool's break was announced, later enlisting executive producer Yves Rothman at the end of 2024 to help develop roughly 20 demos into a full album over the following year. The record examines womanhood, relationships and autonomy through candid lyrics paired with hazy pop production, with Los Angeles, the city where she was born and raised, serving as a recurring backdrop and influence throughout. Tividad also reflects on her once-complicated relationship with LA, saying she now feels more at peace with the city as she has grown older and found a community that resonates with her.
