Ina Garten Explains Why She’s “Always Said No” To A Biopic: “It’s My Story”
Ina Garten says she has repeatedly declined offers to turn her memoir, Be Ready When The Luck Happens, into a biopic. The celebrity chef is concerned that filmmakers would alter her experiences or invent details for dramatic effect, and believes the story should remain hers.
Garten published the memoir in 2024 after ending Barefoot Contessa, her Food Network programme that ran from 2002 to 2021. Since 2022, she has hosted Be My Guest, which features friends joining her for meals at her home in East Hampton, New York.
