Joe Thomas and James Buckley, stars of British comedy series The Inbetweeners, are collaborating on a new Channel 4 documentary titled Joe and James: Boys to Men. The programme explores the challenges of adulthood and navigating life in one's forties, taking the form of a travelogue-style road trip featuring unconventional adventures both at home and abroad. This project capitalises on the enduring popularity of The Inbetweeners, particularly following the recent announcement of a new Netflix film.

The documentary reunites Thomas and Buckley nearly two decades after they first created The Inbetweeners in 2008, when both were in their early twenties portraying awkward teenagers. The original series spawned three seasons and two films, with a third Netflix instalment in development featuring all original cast members reprising their roles. The new documentary is being produced by Idle Industries in conjunction with Fudge Park, the company behind the original series, with co-creator Damon Beesley and Will Macdonald (founder of BBC Studios-backed Idle Industries) on board as producers.
