‘Incredible achievement for the family’ as Bellingham brothers called up
Jobe Bellingham has earned his first call-up to England’s senior squad, joining his older brother Jude. If both play, they could become the first brothers to represent England together since Gary and Phil Neville did so 19 years ago. Manager Thomas Tuchel called it an “incredible achievement for the family” and stressed Jobe was selected on his own merits.
The 21-year-old midfielder is captain of England Under-21s and moved from Sunderland to Borussia Dortmund at 19 in a deal worth up to £31m. Tuchel said Jobe has started the season strongly and that injuries and a suspension created an opportunity in central midfield. England face Croatia at Wembley on 12 November, then Spain in Madrid on 15 November.
In short
- Jobe Bellingham earns his first senior England call-up.
- He could play alongside brother Jude.
