Inde Navarrette Reportedly Passed Up a Role in Heat 2 for Marvel Studio’s X-Men Movie
Actor Inde Navarrette reportedly turned down other high-profile film roles in order to play Rogue in Marvel Studios' upcoming X-Men film, according to sources cited by PageSix. The move comes after her breakout performance in the low-budget hit Obsession gave her significant leverage to choose future projects, and it underlines how much confidence Marvel and Navarrette herself are placing in the new X-Men film, directed by Jake Schreier.
Among the projects she is said to have passed on is a role in Heat 2 as Sharlene, a character originally played by Ashley Judd, which would have seen her star alongside Christian Bale, Leonardo DiCaprio and Adam Driver. She also reportedly declined an unnamed horror film from director Mattias Hoehne worth around $2.5 million. Navarrette earned a reported $20,000 from Obsession, which became the highest-grossing independent film with a budget under $1 million, and her X-Men casting was confirmed at Disney's D23 event, with Adam Driver separately cast as villain Mister Sinister.
