India beat New Zealand via DLS after rain-hit pace battle
India beat New Zealand by four runs under the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method in a rain-shortened ODI, taking a 2-0 lead in their five-match series. The result followed a low-scoring contest dominated by fast bowling, with rain ending India’s chase when they were 113 for seven.
New Zealand were dismissed for 134 in 41 overs after India’s seamers repeatedly broke through the top order. Daryl Mitchell top-scored with 55 and captain Mitchell Santner made 31; Gurnoor Brar took four wickets for 30. India also lost early wickets, but Shreyas Iyer made 30 and KL Rahul finished unbeaten on 26 before the rain interruption; the series continues in Hamilton on Tuesday.
