Man jailed for life with 28-year minimum for killing Xiaoqing Ke at Airbnb
Deepak Sandhu has been sentenced to life imprisonment, with a minimum term of 28 years, for murdering Xiaoqing Ke at an Airbnb in west London. The court heard he killed her after she rejected him, amid a relationship that had deteriorated after she discovered he had stolen money and lied to her.
Ke, 39, was found dead on 10 December with a fatal stab wound to the neck. Sandhu, 24, had arrived in the UK on a student visa in September 2024; it was revoked six months later after he left his university course, but he remained in the country. He travelled from Southampton armed with a knife, and was later stopped on his way to Birmingham Airport wearing a jacket seen in crime-scene CCTV; jurors found him guilty of murder and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
