Marvel Comics has announced Indiana Jones and the Sword of Pandemonium, the character’s first Marvel comic series in more than 30 years. Set after Raiders of the Lost Ark and alongside the original films, the five-issue limited series could begin a broader new era of Indiana Jones comics if it performs well.

The series is written by Jason Aaron, known for Thor and Star Wars, with artwork by Aaron Kuder, and is due to launch in December. Its story sees Indiana Jones searching worldwide for a biblical weapon after old enemies target Marion Ravenwood, while the synopsis hints that their relationship may have changed since the film.
