The release of *Future? No Thanks!*, an open-world satirical comedy from developer Paulo "Molleindustria" Pedercini, has been delayed at the last minute because Valve's Steam content review team has yet to approve the game's brief nude content. Pedercini says the game has been under review for more than three weeks, far exceeding the seven business days Steamworks documentation suggests such checks should take, reviving longstanding criticism that Valve's rules on adult content are vague and inconsistently applied.

According to the developer, Steam's moderators would not accept video footage of the "mild nudity" in question, described as a few seconds of "untextured polygons depicting ass and boobs", but were also unwilling to play through the roughly six-hour game themselves to assess it in context. As a result, Pedercini says he had to submit a special build featuring a dedicated "watch the sex scene" button so reviewers could view the content without playing the game. The scene in question relates to a bucket-list task for protagonist Harvey Huffstone, who has applied for euthanasia, and commentators have noted the episode adds to Steam's reputation, following incidents like last year's "Horses" controversy, for having opaque and unevenly enforced adult-content policies.
