Indonesia Q3 GDP growth at 5.47%, beats expectations
Indonesia’s economy grew 5.47 per cent year on year in the third quarter, beating analysts’ forecasts and accelerating from 5.29 per cent in the second quarter. The stronger result points to continued resilience as the country faces weaker investor sentiment and scrutiny of government fiscal and policy plans.
The statistics bureau said manufacturing helped support growth, including processing palm oil into fuel as the mandatory biodiesel programme expanded. The 2026 state budget targets 5.4 per cent growth, while Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara has said growth this year could reach 5.5 per cent; President Prabowo Subianto aims for 8 per cent by 2029.
In short
- Indonesia’s third-quarter growth reached 5.47 per cent.
- Growth exceeded the 5.18 per cent forecast.
- Manufacturing and biodiesel production supported activity.
