Developing story first seen 1 hour ago
aTwist, the new vertical-streaming platform from television veterans Jana Winograde, Susan Rovner and Lloyd Braun, has launched with further detail on its business model and creative slate. New episodes of its microseries will roll out on Thursdays, with viewers able to watch ad-supported for free or unlock full seasons through in-app coins or a subscription, while the founders describe the venture as offering a distinct consumer proposition built around pacing and narrative structure to keep mobile audiences engaged.
The service is live in eight markets, including the UK, US, Canada, Australia and India, via aTwist.com and apps on major stores. Its opening slate spans scripted dramas, unscripted formats and animation across genres such as horror, romance and comedy, with contributions from "The Bold and the Beautiful" producer Bradley Bell and partnerships with BET and Kevin Hart's Hartbeat. Titles include revenge thriller "Buried Alive, Back For Revenge", Vegas caper "Cash Out", and romance-fantasy "I Fell in Love with a Dragon Prince", reflecting the platform's aim to bring higher-end production values to the short-form vertical format.
