Insta360 X6 review: A 360 camera with a little something for everyone

Engadget · 3 hours ago

Insta360’s X6 is a premium 360-degree camera aimed at both casual creators and more serious filmmakers, combining rugged action-camera convenience with improved image quality and editing tools. Engadget rates it 8.9 out of 10, praising its ease of use, strong footage, Dolby Vision and professional colour options, though its £700-equivalent price places it firmly at the high end of the market.

The camera has a larger 1/1.1-inch sensor, records 360 video at up to 8K/50fps, captures 120-megapixel spherical photos and supports 4K/120fps single-lens video. It adds 10-bit i-Log, 47GB of built-in storage, a larger 2.32-inch display and AI-powered automatic edits, but the review notes occasional stitch lines, limited internal storage and inconsistent results from the automated editing features.

  • Insta360’s X6 offers high-end 360 filming with approachable controls.
  • Larger sensor enables 8K video and improved creative options.
  • Excellent but expensive, with minor stitching and storage drawbacks.
