Instagram expands what partner schools can do on its app
Instagram has expanded its School Partnership Program by introducing new features that allow partner schools to post Stories and Notes visible exclusively to verified students. The platform aims to create safer, school-specific spaces within Instagram, building on its existing commitment to prioritise student reports of bullying and harassment with expedited moderation responses within 48 hours.
Schools can now establish clubs and teams for targeted communication, with administrators able to post Stories and Notes related to activities and events. Additionally, school administrators can create Channels for sharing important announcements with their community, including students, parents and teachers. Identity verification through third-party service UNiDAYS ensures that only legitimate students gain access to these school-specific spaces, with verified students also able to view a school directory of their peers and display school banners on their profiles that only other followed students can see. These features are available from today.
