Inter hold talks with Liverpool over deal for £30m-rated Curtis Jones

The Guardian · 2 hours ago

Inter Milan are negotiating with Liverpool to sign midfielder Curtis Jones, with the 25-year-old expected to leave his boyhood club if the Italian champions meet a valuation of around £30m. The Serie A side have pursued Jones since January, having already had a €25m bid rejected in June, and the move comes as Jones enters the final year of his Anfield contract with no extension agreed.

Intermediaries for Inter approached Liverpool in July offering up to €35m (£30m), and formal talks began this week, with Inter's willingness to pay Tottenham the same fee for Djed Spence seen as a benchmark. New head coach Andoni Iraola has stressed the importance of keeping the Toxteth-born player, who has been at Liverpool since age nine and won six England caps, but the club must weigh this against the risk of losing him for nothing next summer.
