Missouri judge dismisses influencer’s lawsuit over nonprofit firing after donor criticism
A Missouri judge has dismissed Justin Kralemann’s lawsuit over his dismissal from Food Outreach Inc, ruling that the nonprofit fired him for publicly criticising its donors and board members. Kralemann, who posts as The Woke Ginger, said he was dismissed for political speech after speaking out about Enterprise Rent-a-Car’s work with US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Kralemann has nearly 750,000 Instagram followers and was described by the judge as the face of the nonprofit’s programme, giving him a responsibility to protect its public image. Food Outreach provides medically tailored meals and nutrition support to people with HIV or cancer; an Enterprise executive sits on its board. Enterprise denied involvement in the firing, while Kralemann’s lawyer said they are reviewing the ruling and possible appeal options.
