Mongolian rock band The HU are marking their tenth anniversary with the release of a new album, 'Hun', out on 24 July, and spoke to Rock Sound following a headline-stage performance at Iron Maiden's Eddfest. The record continues the band's signature fusion of traditional Mongolian instrumentation and throat singing with modern rock and metal, a blend that has helped them build a global fanbase and demonstrate metal's reach as a universal language.

Speaking to multi-instrumentalist Jaya, the band explained that 'Hun' explores spiritual and ancestral themes about the connection between heaven and earth, with the title translating as "human". The album, their third full-length and first in four years since 'Rumble of Thunder', also includes the track 'Echoes of My Father', a tribute to fathers and the lessons children often only appreciate later in life, reflecting the importance of family in Mongolian culture.
