Intocable has received a recording star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, recognising the Texas-based group’s influence on música Mexicana and Mexican-American culture. The honour underlines the band’s longstanding commercial success and its role in helping broaden the genre’s audience across generations and borders.

The group’s 2,852nd star was unveiled on 16 July at 7083 Hollywood Boulevard during a 30-minute ceremony attended by songwriter Edgar Barrera, Interscope Capitol Miami president Nir Seroussi and journalist Jessica Maldonado. Formed in Zapata in the early 1990s, Intocable has sold an estimated 55 million albums, earned 15 Billboard Top Regional Mexican Albums chart-toppers and 21 Regional Mexican Airplay number ones; frontman Ricky Muñoz thanked supporters, family, staff and songwriters.
