Specialist investigators are examining how two children and a woman were injured while on a ride at Maltby Crags Fair in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. The Health and Safety Executive has sent inspectors to the site and is working with other authorities to establish what happened, underlining the seriousness with which fairground safety incidents are treated.

The incident occurred at about 18:50 BST on Friday and involved three people aged 11, 13 and 21. The two children were taken to Sheffield Children's Hospital, where they remained in a stable condition, while the woman was treated for minor injuries. A Health and Safety Executive spokesperson said they appreciated the concern around the incident and that their thoughts were with anyone affected.
