Kirkman told Collider that Season 5 is in its final production stages, including animation and additional dialogue recording, while Season 6 is already progressing through animatics, script polishing and voice sessions. Season 4 ended with Mark Grayson accepting Grand Regent Thragg’s demand that Viltrumites be allowed to settle and reproduce on Earth, while Allen was tasked with deploying an upgraded Scourge Virus, setting up more difficult choices for the characters.
