Ipswich Town have signed Japan forward Daizen Maeda from Celtic on a three-year contract, reportedly worth £10m. The 28-year-old fulfils a long-held ambition to play in the Premier League and becomes another addition to Ipswich’s squad following their promotion from the Championship.

Maeda leaves Celtic after four and a half successful years, scoring 79 goals in 212 appearances and winning five league titles, three Scottish Cups and two League Cups. He was part of Japan’s 2026 World Cup squad and is valued by Ipswich manager Gary O’Neil for his work rate, physicality and ability to score and create goals.
