Irish boxer Lee Reeves is in a "critical but stable" condition in hospital after being stretchered out of the ring following a knockout defeat in Dublin on Saturday. The 31-year-old from Limerick was knocked out in the 10th round by Gary Cully in a bout for the vacant BUI Celtic super-lightweight title, prompting messages of support from his opponent, promoter and event organisers as his condition is monitored.

The fight took place at the 3Arena and formed part of a card that also saw home fighter Pierce O'Leary lose to Mark Chamberlain via a 10th-round knockout. A Queensberry Promotions spokesperson said on Sunday that Reeves remained in hospital in a critical but stable state, with more updates expected in the coming days. Cully, who entered as the underdog against the higher-ranked fighter, praised Reeves' performance, while promoter Frank Warren said the team was in constant contact with Reeves' camp and hoping for positive news.
