Irish boxer Lee Reeves is showing signs of improvement in hospital, according to promoter Frank Warren, days after he was knocked out and stretchered from the ring during a title fight in Dublin. The 31-year-old's condition had initially been described as "critical but stable", raising serious concern for his welfare following a brutal defeat, though the update from his promotional team offers a more hopeful outlook on his recovery.

Reeves, from Limerick, was fighting Gary Cully for the vacant BUI Celtic super-lightweight title at Dublin's 3Arena when he was knocked out in the 10th round and taken from the venue on a stretcher. Warren, whose Queensberry promotion staged the bout, said on Thursday that contact with Reeves' team indicated he was "making progress", adding that "time hopefully can be a healer" and that he hoped Reeves could soon return home to his family.
