Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson has revealed he is working on a new solo album, recorded at Dave Grohl's Studio 606, which is set to become his first solo release since 2024's 'The Mandrake Project'. Speaking to VSX, Dickinson described the record as "heavy as shit" and largely unconnected to the multimedia concept behind its predecessor, saying he prefers to bring fresh nuance to each release rather than repeat previous work.

The as-yet-untitled album was recorded in January and February 2026 at Grohl's Northridge, California studio with producer Brendan Duffey, and is scheduled for release in 2027 via BMG. It follows 'The Mandrake Project', which paired the 2024 album with a 12-issue comic book series, and before that 2005's 'Tyranny Of Souls'. The news comes amid a busy period for Dickinson and Iron Maiden more broadly: he recently covered David Bowie's 'All The Young Dudes' with Billie Joe Armstrong, while the band has sold a 50% stake in its music and likeness rights to Pophouse Entertainment and is among the 2026 Rock N Roll Hall of Fame inductees, though they have said they will not attend the ceremony.
