Range Rover has confirmed a fifth model for its lineup, the Range Rover GT, an all-electric grand tourer marking a striking shift for a brand built around SUVs. Only camouflaged prototype images have been released so far, but the coupé-like proportions closely echo those of sister brand Jaguar's upcoming Type 01, prompting questions about whether the two JLR-owned marques are now competing for the same buyers.

The GT will be built on JLR's Electrified Modular Architecture at the Halewood plant in the UK and is due to arrive in 2027, though no pricing, range or power figures have yet been announced. Its minimalist interior favours touchscreens over physical switchgear, with a slim driver display, a larger central screen and a panoramic roof, while Range Rover insists the car will retain off-road capability. Notably, it sits on a different platform to the larger, Solihull-built Range Rover Electric, which shares its underpinnings with Jaguar's Type 01.
