Fitbit Air resists water but has limits on immersion and use
Google’s Fitbit Air is water-resistant, not waterproof, so its protection has limits despite being suitable for some swimming. The distinction matters because immersion, heat and everyday products can damage the tracker or weaken its seals.
The device’s IP68 rating allows up to an hour submerged beyond one metre, while its 5 ATM rating indicates resistance to pressure equivalent to 50 metres. Google advises against wearing it in hot tubs, saunas or showers; soaps, lotions, perfumes and high-speed water may also wear down its protection over time.
