Is the new Oasis teaser telling us they’re playing a Manchester residency?

NME · 3 hours ago

Fans have been analysing a series of cryptic teaser videos posted on Oasis's official social media accounts, sparking speculation about a possible 2027 tour that would follow the band's successful "Live '25" reunion shows. Clues in the clips, including football imagery, a tally of goals, and a small blue moon, have led many to believe the band are confirming a 12-night residency at Manchester's Etihad Stadium, home of Manchester City, a club with which the Gallagher brothers have long-standing ties.

The first video, posted on 3 September, showed two boys in a chip shop with numbers on flyers that matched the coordinates of Celtic Park in Glasgow. A second clip released the following day depicted boys playing football against a wall, with a tally of 11 goals followed by a final, 12th goal, fuelling theories about the Etihad residency, while a T-shirt resembling 1996 Knebworth merchandise visible in the background has also prompted guesses about a possible return to that venue. The speculation comes ahead of Liam and Noel Gallagher's joint appearance at the Venice premiere of the documentary "Don't Look Back In Anger" on 5 September, which chronicles their reunion and is due in cinemas on 9 September ahead of a later Disney+ release.
