Israel supporters will be permitted to attend their side's Nations League fixture against the Republic of Ireland next month, though no away fans will be facilitated for the reverse leg. Both matches in Group B3 will be held at neutral venues because of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, with the Football Association of Ireland citing "operational challenges and safety and security concerns" for its decision to close the second game entirely.

Israel will be the designated home side when the teams meet at the Nagyerdei Stadion in Debrecen, Hungary, on 27 September, where a "small allocation" of Israeli supporters will be admitted. The return fixture, hosted in Serbia on 4 October, will be played entirely behind closed doors. The FAI has faced pressure to boycott the games amid protests outside the Dail, but said in June that doing so would have "a profound impact on the whole of Irish football." The fixtures come against the backdrop of the war in Gaza, triggered by the 7 October 2023 Hamas-led attack that killed about 1,200 people and saw 251 taken hostage, with at least 73,377 people since killed in Gaza according to the Hamas-run health ministry.
