Israel's 20-year-old forward Saied Abu Farchi was sent off during a UEFA Nations League match against Austria for using a corner flag to simulate a gun whilst celebrating his goal. Abu Farchi had equalised in the 55th minute at 1-1, but the referee showed him a second yellow card for the celebratory gesture, reducing Israel to ten players during their 3-1 defeat in Linz on Thursday.

Elsewhere in the Nations League, Kosovo defeated the Republic of Ireland 1-0 in Pristina with a late goal from captain Vedat Muriqi, whilst Norway came from behind to beat Denmark 3-2 in Oslo with Erling Haaland scoring twice including a 74th-minute winner to secure their first competitive victory over their neighbours. Greece recovered from a goal down to win 2-1 against Serbia with a stoppage-time winner from Tasos Douvikas, whilst Malta beat Andorra 2-1 and Lithuania defeated Liechtenstein 2-0 in League D fixtures.
