Apple is reportedly planning to delay the standard iPhone 18 until the first quarter of 2027, while launching the iPhone 18 Pro models this autumn. The move would mark a departure from Apple’s usual simultaneous autumn release schedule and could reflect a stronger focus on higher-margin premium devices.

Apple supplier Pegatron reportedly confirmed the timing during an earnings call, supporting earlier reports from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and The Information. The lower-cost iPhone 18e and a new iPhone Air are also rumoured for early 2027, while Apple’s expected foldable “Ultra” iPhone may arrive this autumn; memory and chip shortages are said to be influencing the staggered launch strategy.
