It sounds like you shouldn’t expect Destiny 2’s campaign unvaulting to be ready until 2028, as Bungie tease their plans for the future of the series
Developing story first seen 2 hours ago
Bungie’s latest update gives a clearer picture of the work involved in restoring Destiny 2’s vaulted content: full production is expected to start by February 2027 and take about a year, making 2028 the earliest likely return. The timeline matters for players awaiting the removed campaigns and activities, while Bungie’s references to future updates suggest it plans to keep developing the Destiny series.
The first restoration phase is intended to bring back the Red War, Forsaken, Curse of Osiris and Warmind campaigns, their Strikes, Raids and raid lairs, and the Menagerie activity with reprised rewards. Pre-production is under way after feasibility work began in June. Bungie is also exploring possible additions such as free-roam destinations, seasonal activities, weapon updates and PvP maps; it has teased a “Destiny Legacy” initiative and says another major update is due in February.
