It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! London’s famous Regent Street lights are switched on
Regent Street’s “Spirit of Christmas” lights were switched on in central London, launching the area’s festive season. The display draws visitors to the shopping district, while the event brought shoppers and businesses together for an evening of seasonal activities.
Regent Street was closed to traffic from 5pm to 9pm so people could walk beneath the lights. The display has been in place since 2016 and attracts millions of visitors; organisers said this year’s version includes new details for 2026. Shops and venues offered music, treats and events, and the lights are due to shine each evening until 5 January.
