Slipknot have finally released "Look Outside Your Window," a long-rumoured side project album recorded during the sessions for their 2008 record "All Hope Is Gone," which came out on Record Store Day, 18 April 2026. The album marks a striking departure from the band's usual aggressive metal sound, offering slower, more experimental material, and its release resolves an 18-year saga that had made it something of a myth among fans since it was first announced 15 years ago.

The record was made not by the full nine-piece band but by a smaller unit consisting of frontman Corey Taylor, guitarist Jim Root, percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan and turntablist Sid Wilson, who set up their own studio after growing frustrated with the strict, regimented approach producer Dave Fortman took to the main "All Hope Is Gone" sessions. Seeking a freer, more improvisational outlet, the group recruited Lacuna Coil's Cristina Scabbia to contribute, resulting in a ten-track album that has drawn comparisons to Radiohead-style experimentation.
