Ivan Toney’s assault case has been adjourned by one week, and he is now due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 1 October. The England striker faces an allegation of assault causing actual bodily harm after an incident at an upmarket Soho nightclub on 6 December; he acknowledges the charge and says he intends to clear his name.
The 30-year-old Saudi Pro League player was charged on 31 July and had been expected in court on Thursday, before a delay was requested.
