‘I’ve Got It So Good’: How Australian Country Artist Brad Cox Is Living His Best Life

Billboard · 4 hours ago

Australian country musician Brad Cox has opened up about balancing life on his rural Queensland property with a flourishing music career, describing himself as thoroughly content with both his farm pursuits and his creative output. The interview marks the release of his new single "What Are The Odds," a tender ballad written for his wife, and comes as he kicks off a fresh tour of Australia, underlining his steady rise since breaking through in the country music scene.

Cox, who grew up in Jindabyne in New South Wales, first drew attention by winning the 2018 Toyota Star Maker competition at the Tamworth Country Music Festival before signing with Sony Music. His subsequent albums have performed increasingly well on the ARIA charts, with 2023's "Acres" and 2024's "Endemic Intelligence In Multiple Dimensions" both reaching No. 7, following a move to Warner Music Australia. A four-time ARIA Award nominee, he began his latest national tour on Friday 17 July at Perth's Astor Theatre, and says he is already laying groundwork for a fifth album, though it won't arrive this year.
